Athron, Margaret Louise (nee Houston, (Mackie) )
Margaret Athron, born on May 11, 1946, in Toronto, ON, Canada, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Margaret led a vibrant life filled with passions and creativity.
Margaret was an accomplished graphic artist for over 25 years, owning her own business, and served as a ski patroller, showcasing her adventurous spirit. She had a deep love for reading, knitting, stained glass art, gardening, and bird watching, reflecting her appreciation for the beauty in life. Animals also held a special place in her heart.
In 1972, Margaret was widowed after the passing of her first husband, Irvin Seaward Mackie and later to Gregory Charles Athron who she lost in 2005.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Janet Mackie and Christine Athron, and her cherished grandchildren, Grace, Owen, Nick, and Greg. She is also remembered by her siblings, Joe Huston, Jon Houston, and Anna Kennedy, as well as her late siblings Judy and Derek Houston. Margaret was the daughter of Dorthy Green, James Houston, and her stepmother, Enid (Pacey) Houston.
She is remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared with those around her. Margaret leaves behind a legacy of artistry and kindness that will be cherished by family and friends.
In Lieu of Flowers a Memorial donations to the nature Conservancy of Canada or the Ontario SPCA. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
