Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Carol Provost, in her 77th year. Beloved wife of 33 years to George. Adoring mother to Matthew Moloney, and stepmother to Laurie (Danny), Mark (Erin), and Ryan (Helen). Loving and proud grandmother to Nathan, Kate, Sophie, Ben, Ethan, Ellie, Émilie and Luke. Loved sister to Janice (Bill). Daughter of the late James and Viola Handy. She was predeceased by her brothers Donald and Mervyn, and sisters, Joan and Lynda. Carol will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Carol was a respected employee at Oakville Town Hall for 25 years, a place where she forged lifelong friendships. She then went on to expand her career at Queen’s Park. In retirement, Carol continued to work for the Town of Oakville officiating weddings for over 1300 couples. With each wedding, Carol took care and time to personalize each and every ceremony with love, for she loved love.
Carol was a dear friend to many. Making friends was instinctual; she was a friend collector, from her neighbourhoods, her workplaces, the OYS, book club and traveling the world far and wide with George; they always came home with new friends.
Carol left this world after a valiant fight. She made the world a better place, she was loved and will be greatly missed.
