Wilfrid Sabourin Obituary
Peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family at his home in Welland on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the age of 95 years. Wilfrid was born on February 14, 1929, in North Bay, Ontario. Wilfrid was the beloved husband of Eveleen (nee Marson) Sabourin, and the loving father to Patricia Cosgrove (Lorne), Gerald Sabourin and Cathy McCartney (Randy). He was the cherished grandfather to Cara, Meagan, Leanne and Jessica and great-grandfather to Katrina, Myles, Olivia, Abby, Leia, Penelope and Rhys. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Anita, Denis, Pauline, Louis and Edmond. He is pre-deceased by his parents Charles Sabourin and Florida (nee Chatelain) Sabourin, as well as his siblings Adele, Jean, Leona, Leon, Gerald, Rene, Alice and Michael. During his retirement, Wilf and Evie would flock to Florida to escape the winter blues. Wilf developed a love of gardening and spent many hours on his yard and vegetable garden. The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday, September 6, 2024,between the hours of 7 pm to 9 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church (North Bay) on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 10:00 am. Burial will occur at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery.
