TAVANO, Maria – Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Wednesday February 21, 2024 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Tommaso Tavano. Dearly loved mother of Maria (the late Angelo) Ligotti, the late Luigi ‘Gino’ (Kathy) Tavano, Vince (Tania) Tavano, Joe (Kim) Tavano and Tom Tavano. Cherished Nanna of Angelo (Jennifer) Ligotti, Diana (Francesco) Mucio, Andrea Tavano, Marlee Tavano, Justin Tavano, Brittany Tavano (Mathew), Michael Tavano, Tricia Byrne (Michael), Tania (Joe) Tamburri, Steve Bryne and Bisnonna of Jake, Carson Calianna and Lucia. Dear sister of Rosina (the late Gino) Pullano and mother-in-law of Sue Thiessen. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Vincenzo and Angelica (nee Paonessa) Lizzi, sisters Velia (the late Tony) Rose and Ida (the late Vittorio) Sangiovanni. Mrs. Tavano valued her family above all else and enjoyed family gatherings. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls visiting Sunday Februay 25, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of her life will be held Monday February 26, 2024 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. The Rite of Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum.
