CROBER, Lyall Gordon – Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Betty Crober (2004). Loving father of Andy (Marsha) Crober and Lloyd (Kim) Rietze. Caring grandfather of Craig, Alexis, and Scott (Erika) Rietze. Great-grandfather of Jackson, Lucas, Danika, and Dominik. Dear brother of Charlie (Anne) Crober and Donald (Kathy) Crober. Predeceased by his parents Charles & Lucille Crober and his siblings Patrice Crober, Carl (Mary) Crober, Gerald (Ethel) Crober, and Evelyn (Tom) Graham. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. His family would like to thank his PSW Emily for her kindness, compassion, and care for Lyall. Lyall graduated from MacDonald College at McGill University in 1952 and retired from Agriculture Canada in 1989 after 35 years of service. He was a passionate and knowledgeable gardener and was a long-time member of the Rhododendron Society of Niagara. Lyall was happiest when sharing a bottle of wine and conversation with friends and family.
Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at a later date. A celebration of Lyall’s life will be held in the spring when his beloved garden is in bloom. Arrangements entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Animal Assistance Society of the Niagara Region.
