JAIC, Dragica – On Wednesday August 27, 2024 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 74 years; Beloved wife for 46 years of Ljubomir; Loving mother of Denis, Biljana (Oscar) and Mirjana (Brendan); dear grandmother of Aleksandra, Natasha, Cameron, Jake, Thalia, Tehya, Isabelle and Ethan; sister of Branka Armus (the late Rajko), Stanka Sakovic and Zarko (Biserka) Sakovic.
Caring Tetka of Vesna (Sinisa), Ljubo (Lida), Nebojsa, Kasandra and Stefanie. Dear daughter of the late Dusan and Cveta Sakovic. Sadly missed by family, Kumovi and friends here, in Serbia, Montenegro and Republic of Serbia.
Born in Kosovo. Dragica came to Canada in 1975, settling into Sudbury, Ontario where she met her dear husband Ljubomir. Draga was a homemaker raising her three children, caring for her parents and nieces. She was a member of the Serbian Circle of Sisters at St. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church. Draga helped with community events and assisted new comers to Canada. Later in life, she moved to Niagara Falls to be closer to her children and grandchildren, where she continued her passion in caring for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Jaic is at the Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, where her family will receive friends on Saturday, August 31st from 12 noon – 3 pm. Vigil will be held at 2pm. Cremation to follow with private family interment of cremated remains at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to Walker Cancer Centre (Niagara Health Foundation).
