SOFIA, Angela ‘Lina’ (nee Miano) – Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Saturday September 30, 2023 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of 39 years to the late Carmen (2016). Loving sister of Rosa (the late Franco) Fiumano, Maria (Salvatore) Sofia, sister-in-law of Sarina Miano. Cherished Zia of Rosemary (the late Dan) Gentilcore, Leonard (Cyndy) D’Aiuto, Santino (Fiona) Burgi, Giusy (Felice) DiPasquale, Flora (Nino) Brigandi, as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Predeceased by her parents Salvatore and Giuseppina (nee Ragno) Miano, siblings Vincenza (Salvatore) Burgi, Lorenzo (Emma) Miano, Angelo Miano, Giuseppe (Franca) Miano, siblings-in-law Maria (Carmen) D’Aiuto, Joe (Joanna) Sofia, Concetta (Salvatore) Bertolami, Antonietta (Salvatore) Signer. Angela loved her family – although she did not have children, she treated her nieces and nephews as her own. She was a loving and devoted Zia. She was generous, kind, a devout Catholic and active member of Our Lady of the Scapular Church. Angela was a past president of the Club Italia Ladies Auxiliary, and remained an active member. She worked at the St. David’s Cannery for over 15 years, until her retirement. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Tuesday October 3, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, with the Rite of Entombment at Fairview Mausoleum. In memory of Mrs. Sofia, memorial contributions may be made to The Niagara Health Foundation (Walker Family Cancer Centre), and would be appreciated. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com
