Daniel Jeremy Weidelich
Dan Weidelich, 36, beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend passed away August 21, 2024, at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
He was born on May 24, 1988, to Peter & Gisela Weidelich and grew up in Uxbridge and Stouffville as the third born of four kids. Growing up he enjoyed many family vacations and road trips, including many memorable fishing trips, through which he developed his interest in the simple joys of life. He studied at Western University graduating in 2011 with a degree in economics. During this time, his deep passion for music led him to write and record a beautiful album with some of his closest friends. The album will be forever cherished by those who knew his heart. He was compassionate and had a large servant’s heart. Dan was involved in Campus for Christ, volunteered at soup kitchens and went on a formative missions trip to Haiti. He will be remembered for his welcoming, generous demeanour, his big smile and enormous laugh, and his constant dreaming and big ideas. Dan spent his life trying to understand and make the world a better place. He always encouraged others in their endeavours and asked questions with sincere curiosity. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Dan is survived by his parents, Peter & Gisela, older brother David (Andrea), sister Lindsey (Kevin), younger brother Michael (Mayoli), 9 nieces and nephews, Gabby, Simon, Beth, Hugo, Andrew, Matthew, Joni, Lucy, Tom, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home in Markham. A celebration of life service will take place on Wednesday, August 28th, at 1:00 p.m. at Springvale Church in Stouffville followed by a reception. A private family burial will take place at Stouffville cemetery.
