Peter was a kind, friendly and loving soul who through his own quiet demeanour touched the lives of not just his cherished family but everyone he met. He loved farming and supported his family working his land and raising cattle. Years later, after moving from the farm, he was able to continue working in agriculture and was provided the opportunity by his Uncle Fred at Lewis Farms. In his early years, he was a great baseball and hockey player, who continued to enjoy sports by watching his favourite teams and players on TV. His skill and passion were passed down to his family and he was always right there on the sidelines with Debbie cheering on his children and most recently his grandchildren every chance he got. Peter and Debbie shared a love of travelling to sunny destinations with great family and friends, quiet sunset walks along the beach, biking, reading and classic cars. In retirement, Peter’s grandchildren kept him busy and he cherished every moment they spent together playing games, bike rides to Dairy Queen for ice cream and attending classic car shows. Peter enjoyed his daily walks with our furry companion Griffin, who was always so excited to join him and will be greatly missed. Peter was an incredibly proud father and whenever he spoke about his children you could see the love and admiration he felt shine through his eyes. Peter’s wife Debbie was his rock, soulmate and the love of his life whose unwavering love, dedication and support held him up through all the good times and the bad. Our family will remember and hold forever in our hearts the memories of the incredible man he was and not for the sadness in his passing.
A private family Memorial Mass will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Exeter. Cremation has taken place.
Donations to Victim Services Huron Perth, Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario or Jessica’s House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
