Obituary of David Kurt Pomerantz
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David Pomerantz at London Health Sciences Victoria Campus, London on January 8th, 2024. David peacefully left this world at the age of 80, leaving behind a profound legacy of knowledge, community, and dedication.
Beloved husband of Patricia Louise McFee. Loved father of Jesse Pomerantz. Loved stepfather of Adrian Durham, Carmen Lazorek, and Cecily Bristow-O’Flaherty. Caring grandfather to Sierra and Logan Pomerantz, Ellara Durham, Miranda and Nolan Lazorek, Ciaran and Aidan O’Flaherty.
Born in California, David later studied and worked internationally, completing graduate studies in the field of Physiology. He settled in London, Ontario where he spent 27 years at Western University, dedicating himself to teaching and carrying out research in reproductive medicine. During this time, he spent a sabbatical year at McGill. He had a wanderlust spirit and took every opportunity to travel with his wife Patricia to explore different cultures, cuisines and amazing hiking and biking adventures.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be scheduled for family and friends in the coming months.
Memorial donations to London Health Sciences Centre (London Health Sciences Foundation – Honour/Memorial Giving) and online condolences may be made at www.woodlandcemetery.ca. Arrangements entrusted to Woodland Cemetery.
