John Eric Moggy

John died peacefully in Little Current on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Born on June 22, 1940, in Manitowaning, to his loving parents, Comfort and Carrie Moggy (nee Hughson).
John was a devoted husband to his late wife, Margaret Moggy (nee Omnet), with whom he shared a beautiful marriage of 39 years. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.
John’s legacy lives on through his children, Rick, Lori, James (James) and Scott (Paula). He was a loving and supportive father who took great pride in watching his children grow and achieve their dreams. His grandchildren, Mary Jane, Eric and Isobel, held a special place in his heart and he cherished the time he spent with them.
John was dedicated to his siblings Dale and Doug, sisters-in-law Vicky and Kathy and was predeceased by his siblings June, Raymond, Beverly and Dorothy. Through thick and thin, they stood by each other, offering support and unconditional love. John will always be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
John had a passion for hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He found joy in the simple things of life and took great pleasure in tinkering with various projects. John’s kind and quiet demeanor was like a roar when someone needed help. He had a big heart and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. His stoic nature made him a pillar of strength and a source of comfort for his loved ones.
Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate John’s remarkable life and the impact he had on each of us at the Island Funeral Home, 36 Worthington St., Little Current, on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Manitoulin Health Centre Auxiliary. Your contribution will help support the healthcare needs of the community and honour John’s memory.
