Daughter of Alexander Cosby (predeceased) and Pearl Chambers (predecased).
Stepdaughter of King Chamber (predecased).
Daughter in law of Junior Chisholm and Doris Chisholm (predeceased)
Beloved wife of 50 years, and best friend, of Brock Chisholm
Loving mother of
Stephen Chisholm (Becky)
and Stacey Heins (Jason).
Doting grandma of
Cole Chisholm (Brooke),
Abbie Heins,
Madison Skippen,
Samantha Chisholm
and Bella Ferguson.
Great grandma of Myles Chisholm.
Dear sister of
Lois Bond (Gerry),
Russel Cosby,
Helen Chisholm-Predeceased (James-predeceased)
and Phyllis Norris-predeceased (Robert).
Sister in law to Ruth Chisholm (predeceased).
She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Brenda was a people person. She loved meeting new people and welcoming them into her circle. She enjoyed yearly events such as Country Fest, Bluegrass in The country, the Blyth Steam Show, the Massey Fair, and her quilting retreat. Most recently she enjoyed a bus trip to the Great Northern Opry and planned to make it a yearly tradition if her health allowed it. She worked at Foodland right up until her diagnosis, for no reason other than she loved to be around people. She made an impression on everyone she met with her infectious laugh and warm smile.
Brenda loved hosting events. It could be smaller events such as family dinners or bonfires, but she also tackled bigger projects such as shore lunches at Buck and Bingwood (the fly in fishing resort she and Brock owned in Horsepayne) and events such Christmas in July, stone soup, potlucks, and car shows at Uncle Steve’s.
Brenda was a woman of many talents. She was a wonderful baker and quilter. She was a member of the Hawberry Hoedownders Square Dancing Club for many years. Painting, knitting, crocheting, you name it, she tried it. She always had numerous craft projects on the go.
She particularly loved doing crafts with her grandkids, who meant the world to her. Her fighting spirit allowed her to meet her great grandson Myles, who brightened her final days beyond imagination.
Brenda will be greatly missed, but we all take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents, sisters, and beloved dog cinnamon. We have no doubt there is one heck of a party going on up in heaven!
Brenda asked that a celebration of life be held in her honour. Please join us at the Rockville Hall to celebrate, on what would have been her 70th birthday, April 27, 24 from 1-4.
