Susan Elizabeth Fitch
(June 7, 1963 – August 27, 2024)
With deep sorrow, the Fitch family announces the passing of our beloved daughter/sister, Susan Elizabeth. Susan was predeceased by her mother, Shirley, in 2009. She is survived by her father, Robert Fitch, and her brothers, Paul Fitch (Diana Sheridan) and Gregory Fitch (Paula Cayley). Susie was born and lived in Lindsay. She lived a quiet, dignified life, touching everyone she met with her infectious smile, her sense of humour and her desire to please those she loved. She made everyone she met a better person — more caring, more thoughtful and more empathetic. Susan had several passions in life, including puzzles, colouring books, magazines and kitty cats. Her strongest bond was with her family, whom she loved and was much loved in return. This love was nowhere better realized than in her Sunday dinners at home, which almost always were a request for “red ghetti” and a banana split. Susan was a long-time member of Community Living and it became, in every sense, her community. It was her other home. Susie developed many friendships at Community Living with her fellow residents and staff. We, as a family, want to express our heartfelt appreciation to Community Living for providing Susie with a loving and caring home. Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Susan’s life on Tuesday September 24 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church at 2:30 pm, reception to follow. A private family burial at Knox Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Jarvis, Ontario will follow.
