Passed away, peacefully surrounded by family, on August 18, 2024 at his home in Kitchener, ON at the age of 72.
Beloved husband of 46 years to Stephanie.
Cherished father of Marianne Mlinarić, Dianna Šutić (Damir), Susan Moguš (Jason).
Loving Dida of Mateo, Dominik and Karmela Šutić, & Amelia and Adrian Moguš.
Dear brother of Anna Požeg (late Ivica).
Proud uncle of Dr. Zlatko and Frank Požeg and their families.
He will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends.
Josip was a dedicated employee at Budd Automotive for 34 years. He was also proudly active in the Croatian community, where he was a member of the Holy Family Croatian Roman Catholic Parish, the KW Croatian Club, and the KW Hrvat Soccer Club.
Thank you to all of the healthcare workers at Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton, Grand River Hospital Cancer Centre and the nurses and PSWs through CarePartners.
Josip’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM & 6:00 – 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Holy Rosary will begin at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Croatian Roman Catholic Parish, 180 Schweitzer St., Kitchener, on August 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, 119 Arlington Blvd., Kitchener. Reception will follow at the KW Croatian Club, 2006 Shantz Station Rd, Breslau.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Kruh Svetog Ante – through Holy Family Croatian Parish, The Holy Family Croatian Parish – Building Fund, or to the KW Croatian Club would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
