James Eugene Hueglin Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maj. (Ret) James (Jim) Eugene Hueglin, peacefully at KGH, Kingston, Tuesday March 19th, after a brief illness.
Remembered lovingly by his wife June (Agla), of 62 years, sons Stephen and Dave, daughters-in-law Jean and Marie, Grandchildren Ryan (and wife Melissa), Brent, Josh (and wife Ashley), Elizabeth and Sarah-Christina, Ben (and girlfriend Daphnee), and Elie, and great granddaughters Ava and Hanna. He will also be fondly remembered by past CF members who served with him, his golf family in Sebring, Florida, and dance and bridge partners in Kingston.
Jim joined the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in 1961 and trained as a teletype and cypher equipment technician. He completed a UN tour of duty in the Belgian Congo in 1963. He was commissioned from the ranks and served as a signals officer, in Germany, England and Canada, in the RCHA, Royal School of Signals and in Electronic Warfare. He ended his regular career as the CO of CFSRSHQ Detachment, USA Field Station, Augsburg, Germany, with the US 701st Military Intelligence Brigade.
Jim served in the reserves as OC of the Reserve EW Sqn and was appointed for a 3 year term as Honorary Lt. Colonel of the Reserve EW Sqn. Jim was also a past president of the FSNA and an executive member of the Signallers Club of Canada.

A celebration of life will be held on July 13th, 2024, between 2 and 4pm, at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, ON, K7M 7H3.
