Ingrid Young Obituary
After a brave 3 year struggle with cancer, Ingrid Young (nee Wagner) passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2023 in the palliative care unit of Providence Care hospital, with her husband by her side. Born May 18th, 1957 to Andreas and Katharina Wagner (both predeceased) along with sister Christine (predeceased), she grew up in and around “the beaches” neighborhood of Toronto, Ontario where she enjoyed track and field, performing in the school band and working at Griffith’s on Queen St.
Of those she embraced in life, she is survived by her soulmate of 45 years David and “the kids”, Jason and his wife Sara (Couto); Matthew and his wife Leah (Greer). Ingrid was an affectionate, loving wife who was always so very proud of the family that she, along with David, had so lovingly nurtured.
Whether enjoying sunset Caesars on the dock at the cottage (4 o’clock on the dot), hosting company around the pool at home or family dinners during the holidays, Ingrid did everything with love and care in her heart and with her beloved family in mind. She will be dearly missed.
For those wishing to pay their respects, there will be an intimate celebration of life to be held at a date to be determined. For those wishing to make a memorial donation they can be made to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation – Palliative Care Unit of Providence Care Hospital.
