Dorothy Frances Deluzio Obituary
Dorothy Frances Deluzio
1937 – 2024
We are sad to announce the sudden death of our wee Irish mom, Dorothy Frances Deluzio. She left us unexpectedly on February 18, 2024. Dorothy was born on October 24, 1937, to Isobel and John Daly in Portrush, Ireland a place that she returned to throughout her life.
Dorothy is survived by her brother Tony and predeceased by her sisters Veronica and Nuala, and her brother John. Dorothy was a kindhearted and devoted mother to her children Elaine (Jim), Sheila (Andre), and Kevin (Norma Jean). Her love extended to her grandchildren, Ryan (Jenoa), Connor (Monica), Sean (Maria), Terry, Gabriel, Claire, Aidan, Sonia, Elijah, Zach, and great-grandson Freddy. Dorothy was fortunate to have two great loves in her life; our father Terry who was taken from us too soon in 1984, as well as her Irish love, Philip McAleese, who died in 2017.
Dorothy loved reading, knitting and shopping for that next great outfit. She will be missed by all of us and by several downtown dress shops where she was known by name.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 279 Johnson St., Kingston at 2:00 pm on Thursday February 22, 2024.
May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine always upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
