Audrie Jean Cossar Obituary
Audrie Jean (Baldwin) Cossar
April 1, 1936 – January 13, 2024
The beloved wife of Bruce Cossar, mother of Laird (Mary Morris), Anne Vautour (Elaine), Ross (Lisa Lawless) and Alison Smith (Bryan) and the happy Grandma of six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, Audrie went to be with her Lord quite suddenly on Saturday, January 13th.
After graduating from Queen’s University in 1960, her career was that of homemaker and moral support for a very active brood. A lady of strong Christian faith, she served the Church in many ways and was an Honourary Life Member of the Women’s Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. Over the years, she was a Girl Guide leader, a sight-reading Alto in various choirs and a light-footed Scottish Country Dancer. Other hobbies and interests included stamp collecting, miniatures, travel in the U.K., “Swallows and Amazons”, boats and always cats.
Despite years of chronic arthritic pain, she readily helped others as she could and provided a ray of sunshine to many, many friends. Audrie’s family will receive guests on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, January 17th, from Noon to 1:20 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 17th at 1:30 pm, with interment at Cataraqui Cemetery and a Reception in the James Reid Reception Centre to follow.
Memorial donations may be made to Hope Presbyterian Church, Kingston c/o 92 Queen Mary Road, Kingston, ON, K7M 2A5.
