Passed away at St. Catharines General Hospital, on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 71.
Beloved wife of Emilio (Mel). Dearly loved mother of Julia (James), and Gregory (Stephanie). Cherished Nana of Rowan and Quinn. Dear sister of Richard Cartwright (Penny) and the late Susan Gemmill (Bill). Loved sister-in-law of Mike Iovio (Rebecca), Frank Iovio (Charlene LaLonde), John Iovio, and Rose Vlcek (Mike). She will be missed by her many family members, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunties, and friends who became family.
Jackie was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, and singing with the choir at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church. She was an integral part of the community in Grimsby, where she and Mel lived for over 30 years, and made long lasting friendships there with many people.
She was always happiest with a cup of tea in hand. Jackie’s short battle with cancer and sudden passing leaves a large hole in the lives of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 156 Main Street West, Grimsby, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 11 a.m.
If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
