Sean passed peacefully in the Brockville Hospital following a courageous battle with severe COPD and lung cancer. He was the beloved son of the late John M. O’Connor & late Catherine [Kae] Donnelly. He is survived by his sister Ellen [Pierre Gravelle], nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
After working at the Bank of Canada for twenty-five years, then in landscaping and painting for a decade, Sean settled in Pittston, ON where he proudly built his home and enjoyed his retirement years. He loved creating stained glass works of art in the quiet beauty and comfort of the countryside he so relished. He had such compassion for animals, taking in and caring for many strays that became loving family pets.
A special thank you to all Sean’s health care providers at the OGH Cancer Clinic and the Brockville Hospital Palliative Care team who provided such compassionate medical and emotional support during Sean’s final six weeks; we are so very grateful.
A heartfelt thank you also to Sean’s very kind, caring, long-time friends: Tony, Pat, Don & Willa, for the many ways you ALL contributed to his comfort, safety and happiness. Your friendship, patience, love, generosity and assistance were so very appreciated by Sean and his family.
As per Sean’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held. A private gathering of his close friends & family will be planned in late spring.
Donations to the Lung Association are welcome in Sean’s memory.
RIP Sean. You remain loved, missed and forever in our prayers.
