Passed away peacefully at home in Innisfil, on Saturday, May 25th, 2024, in his 94th year. Predeceased by his wife Nancy Joan Walters (nee Tuckey) who passed away in 2009. Cherished father of Richard James Walters (Jill nee Hepple), and Michael John Walters (Kelly nee Kearns). Loving grandfather of Alyson Paige Walters, and Ian James Walters (Marisa nee Paine). Great-grandfather of Landon, Ryland, and Hadley. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Mable Walters, and his two brothers Charles Walters (May), and Frank Walters (Katie).
John and Nancy lived for many years in Parkhill Ontario where John worked as a machinist/mechanic and Nancy owned and operated the License Bureau (Service Ontario today). They moved to Shrewsbury Ontario on Lake Erie after their retirement then to Sandy Cove Acres to be closer to family. John was an avid golfer and fisherman. He and Nancy played together in dart leagues in Parkhill and at Sandy Cove. John was a Legion member; he was a past president of the Parkhill Branch and had just received his 60-year pin as a member when he passed. He was very proud of his Legion affiliation. John was very sociable. We often laughed that within a few minutes of getting somewhere he would know everyone and everything. He had a great sense of humour which was important with two boys. He loved his family and would do anything for them, he was always bragging to anyone who would listen about their accomplishments. He was a favourite with his great grandchildren who loved sitting with him jabbering on together. He will be missed by family and all who knew him.
