Cheryl Lynn Morino, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 61. Born on May 21, 1963, in Toronto, Cheryl was the cherished daughter of Charles and June Morino.
Cheryl’s life was a testament to love, generosity, and a spirited sense of humor. Known for her silly and unapologetically sarcastic nature, she could bring a smile to anyone’s face. Her intelligence and caring disposition were evident in everything she did, always willing to help anyone and everyone, even when she had little to give herself.
Family was everything to Cheryl. She was the devoted mother of Justin McMurdo (Amber Creed) and Kristen McLaren (Jeremy McLaren), and the doting “Nanny” to her grandchildren, Layla McLaren and Scarlett McMurdo. Her love for her family was boundless, and she found immense joy in every moment spent with them.
Cheryl was also a loving sister to Tracey Murray (Albert Murray), Kevin Gleason (Suzanne Gleason), Brian Gleason (Sue Gleason), Edward Gleason, and Lee Anne Morino Penny (Shawn Penny). As an aunt, she held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews: Charlotte Morino, Tom Morino, Sandra D’Alessandro (John Anslow), John-Paul D’Alessandro, Shaunda Kellett (Vaughn Kellett) and Jay Beddice. Great aunt to Brittany D’Alessandro, Dustin D’Alessandro, Blaise Kellett, Mitchell Kellett and Jade Kellett.
Her children and extended family remember her for her creative spirit and her passion for crafts, which she shared with those around her. Cheryl’s legacy is one of warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
To honour Cheryl’s memory, family and friends are invited to Innisfil Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. for visitation. A formal service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
