Alfred LeRoy (Lee) Beam
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Alfred LeRoy “Lee” Beam, on Monday, December 18th, 2023 at Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll. Lee was a deeply compassionate man and an inspiration to many he crossed paths with throughout his life.
Lee was born on December 8th, 1941 to Manley and Madeline (Tighe) Beam. After Lee graduated from high school, he studied dentistry at the University of Toronto and later opened a private practice in London, Ontario. Lee had a wonderful career in dentistry spanning several decades and cherished his patients as if they were family and friends.
In 1969, Lee married Elizabeth and went on to have two children, Jennifer, and Andrew. In 1974, Lee moved his family to a hobby farm near Dorchester, which became a private retreat. He transformed the property into the sanctuary it is today, one tree/plant at a time.
Lee was a true family man and was passionate about giving back. He volunteered countless hours of his time coaching his children’s baseball teams and helping his many friends, colleagues, and neighbours with anything they needed. Lee was often seen in his orange ball cap, chainsaw in hand, with his dog by his side. He adored his grandchildren and spent time with them fishing, swimming, woodworking, playing cards or taking them on tractor rides. Lee and Beth spent many memorable years together travelling with friends to Florida and soaking up the sun.
Lee is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Brewster), his daughter Jennifer and her husband Lance (Bryenton), his son Andrew and his wife Amy (Daniel) and his beloved grandchildren Nevan, Luke, Sophia, and Ava.
He was brother to Carol, nephew to Wray and had many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by countless friends, neighbours, and colleagues that he had the privilege of knowing in his 82 years.
A Celebration of Life will take place later in the new year. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of London and Middle, or Thamesford or Dorchester local minor baseball associations.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll 519-425-1600.
