It is with great sadness that our family is announcing that Rod passed away suddenly at home on September 25, 2024 at the age of 67 years. Rod was born in Huntsville on Mays 22, 1957 and is predeceased by his parents, Dennis and Elizabeth Hutcheson of Huntsville, and sister in law, Marion. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Barbara and his brothers, Richard and Ted ( Laurie). Uncle Rod was loved by Rob (Emily), Lesley, Matthew (Katie) and Kate and his many cousins and friends.
Rod was a man who knew many people and was always outgoing and friendly with everyone. He recently retired to spend his time doing the things he loved. Fishing and hunting were lifelong hobbies. He was a fan of watching curling, baseball and hockey games each season. He enjoyed talking with people about “everything” that was happening in Huntsville. For many years he worked at the Tembec flooring plant and recently for Independent grocer, in Huntsville. He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church and went to Sunday services regularly accompanying his father and his sister over his lifetime.
A memorial service is being held at All Saints Church, 30 High Street, Huntsville on Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at 2 pm. Rod had a special love for his pets over his lifetime and would want donations be made to the Bracebridge SPCA.
