It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Joanne Dionne on Monday September 23, 2024 at the Temiskaming Hospital at the age of 62.
Joanne was born on October 24, 1961 to Bill Axcell of Toronto and the late Vivian Axcell (Fleming) of Renfrew and was raised in Kirkland Lake. Joanne was an RN in several nursing homes until her retirement in 2017. Joanne had a natural talent for photography, crafts and cooking which she displayed on her daily posts and received accolades from her friends and family. Whether rain or shine she loved her twice daily walks and could photograph the most beautiful thing which most people would walk by without noticing.
She was an amazing woman and her love for all animals including her dogs was second to none. She would go out of her way to help someone and would strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger. To all the men who she had me bring a plate of food or dessert to, you will have to find another cook.
She will sorely be missed by her husband Gilbert as they did mostly everything together such as traveling, fishing and holidaying at there home in Florida. Her sister Diane will have an empty place in her heart and miss their daily conversations with her best friend. Joanne will truly be missed by her new puppy Amber. She will also be missed by her father Bill, brother Adam, brother in laws Andre, Bruce and Kerry, sister in laws Madeleine and Cathy as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Joanne’s final care has been entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions can be made to Northern Animals Rescue and Sanctuary in New Liskeard. Condolences and tributes may be left at www.buffamleveille
