CARSON-REES: Rosemary
(July 5, 1949 – September 18, 2024)
As the sun came up, Rosemary slipped away after a debilitating two and a half month long battle with brain cancer.
She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, John Rees, her brother David (Debby) Carson and her brother-in-law Mel Habbershaw (partner Pat) along with her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her son Michael in December, 2023 and her sister Ruth Ann Habbershaw in February, 2022.
Rosemary was born in Paris, Ontario and raised in Brantford and moved to Toronto at a young age.
She worked for many years at Metro Toronto Housing Authority and as a Property Manager at Greenwin and her last job was with Rietter Management.
Rosemary was a perennial volunteer, notably at the May Court Club in Kitchener and the past few years at the IODE Opportunity Shop in Goderich.
She loved garage sales, thrift stores and firmly believed that chocolate was a food group! Her favourite TV shows included Storage Wars, Pawn Stars and anything to do with home decorating and renovation. A special treat for her would be $40 and trip to the Casino.
The family would like to thank her Nurse Practitioner, Patricia Robinson, the doctors and staff at the University and Victoria Hospitals in London as well as the terrific doctors and nurses at the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital in Goderich. Special thanks to the wonderful ladies from the IODE for their many visits and all their support over these past few months.
At Rosemary’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Falconer Funeral Homes – Bluewater Chapel, 201 Suncoast Drive, East, Goderich on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, and as expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Maple Leaf Chapter of the IODE or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
