Doris Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Doris Lorraine Allworth on August 9, 2024, at the age of 90, at Extendicare Halton Hills. Doris was the beloved wife of the late Bruce Allworth and a cherished mother to Stephen, Mary Fendley (Glenn), and Ruth McMenemy (Randy).
A dedicated and compassionate nurse, Doris devoted her career to caring for others, culminating her service at Georgetown Hospital. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession; she was a talented gardener, a wonderful cook, and a devoted family woman.
Doris took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Ryan McMenemy (Jess), Rob McMenemy (Christine), Lindsay Langlois (Michael), Emily McMenemy (Murray), Leah Fendley (Jarrett), and Melissa McMenemy (Zach), and as a great-grandmother to Sarah, Kate, Meghan, Becca, Oliver, Rosie, Juniper, Marigold, Logan, Lauren, and Lila. Her love and warmth will continue to be felt by all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Doris’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 89 Mountainview Road South, Georgetown, on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.
In memory contributions to St. Andrew’s United Church or Sick Kids Hepatology Program (Biliary Atresia Research and Innovation) would be appreciated.
