SHIPLEY, Geraldine “Gerry” Edith
Geraldine “Gerry” Edith Shipley passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Saturday, November 9th, 2024, in her 91st year.
Beloved wife of the late Ivan Shipley (2019). Loving mother of Karen Kingdon (Doug), Kevin Shipley (Wanda), the late Ron Shipley (2023) (Sharon), and Ian Shipley (Barb). Cherished Nannie to 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Survived by her sister Delores Gilliard. Predeceased by parents Delmer and Eva Smith and her sisters Maxine McMullen and Donna Doan. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends.
Gerry loved her family, and each new child born to the family brought special joy to her life.
For their family, she and Ivan created a home that said “Welcome, so glad you are here, stay awhile.” Whenever you popped in, you were greeted with a warm smile, guided to a comfy chair in her immaculate home or outside in her much loved gardens, and always, there were goodies from the kitchen to be enjoyed.
She loved bringing her family together. Many fine meals were enjoyed in her home, her warmth and love serving to create an atmosphere of connection for her family. And always, she was sure to have her camera at the ready, capturing memories for her family, knowing how important those photos would one day be.
