Peacefully at Georgetown Hospital on Friday, September 13th 2024 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Shirley Cornfield nee. Sinclair, treasured father of Marcia (Ross) Baker of Acton and the late Wesley Cornfield. Grandfather of Eric and Ian Baker. Brother of John (Marion Williamson) of Wiarton and Leona Cameron of Chatsworth. Predeceased by sister Marjorie Coveny and brother-in-law Burton Cameron.
Lloyd was born on July 27th, 1940 to John and Vera Cornfield. Lloyd went to public school in Flesherton and post secondary studies were at Mohawk College. Lloyd worked in HVAC by trade and was nicknamed “Mister Fix-it” by all that received his help. He truly had an engineering brain and this became evident in how successful he was at figuring out a repair for almost anything! He married Shirley Sinclair in 1967. They started their family in 1970 with the birth of their son Wesley James, followed by their daughter, Marcia Anne in 1973. Lloyd loved being a dad. He coached Wesley in hockey and drove Marcia all over the country for competitive step dancing. Lloyd and Shirley adored their grandchildren and retired to Acton to be close to them in 2005. In his senior years, Lloyd enjoyed golfing and working on little house projects in his shed. This past August, Lloyd and Shirley celebrated their 57th year of marriage. Lloyd will forever be remembered for his kind soul as well as for the unconditional love he had for his family. Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, 1 Highland Drive, Flesherton on Tuesday, October 15th at 10am until the service time at 11am. Interment to take place at Flesherton Cemetery.
