Marsha died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in Grand Bend Ontario. Marsha was in her 74th year. Marsha is survived by many cousins and dear friends. Marsha is predeceased by her parents Harvey and Irene DeFore of Thedford.
Marsha was born in Sarnia, Ontario and grew up in Thedford. Marsha loved children and spent her career as a devoted schoolteacher. She took early retirement from teaching to spend more time with her beloved mom. Marsha and her mom were avid travelers and enjoyed many trips and adventures together. After her mom passed Marsha continued to travel and explore the world she loved. Marsha had a genuine passion for books, art, and the theatre. It was her favourite thing, to attend the theatre
with her friends.
Marsha was a strong and independent character who was surrounded by good friends throughout her life. Marsha’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the community of good friends she was surrounded by since moving to Grand Bend. She spoke often of how grateful she was for your support; you meant the world to her.
A memorial service for Marsha will be held Friday, December 20th at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, Exeter. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 11 am-12 pm, followed immediately by the memorial service at 12 pm and then a light lunch. Interment at Pinehill Cemetery in Thedford, following the lunch.
Friends and family are welcome to provide donations to Diabetes Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the charity of their choice.
