Ray died peacefully at the age of 90 of Congestive Heart Failure at Etobicoke General Hospital with family at his bedside on Thursday January 25, 2024.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Marie, son Reid (Kim), and daughter Becky Eyre, 5 grandsons – Matthew (Zoe) Greiner, Kyle Greiner, Mitchell Eyre, Nicky Eyre and Ben Eyre (Jessye).
He is predeceased by his parents Alfred Peter Greiner and Oretha Jessie Pluim Greiner, two sisters, Madeline Turner and Patricia Lambrecht.
Born in the Wetaskiwin, Alberta Community Hospital on July 6, 1933, he grew up on the family farm in the Wetaskiwin area. At the age of 20 he joined the R.C.M.P. serving mostly in B.C. for two years before leaving the force. He then started a career in Real Estate in Edmonton, later joining M.E.P.C. Canadian Properties Ltd. where he served as President, then as President of Morguard Properties Ltd. He then formed a company with Tony Pacaud, Greiner-Pacaud Management Inc. developing Real Estate Portfolios for institutional investors.
He was a longtime member of St. George’s Golf and Country Club enjoying golf, curling and playing bridge.
Family and Friends are invited to join us at a Celebration of Life held at St. George’s Golf and Country Club, 1668 Islington Ave. Etobicoke on Sunday February 4, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
