Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family May 7, 2024, at 71 years of age. Son of the late Bud and Lil Ferriss and son-in-law of the late Addison and Cecilia Burling.
Loving husband of 49 years to Mary Jean (nee Burling). Beloved father of Chad Ferriss (Teresa) and Lindy Drouillard (Mark). He leaves behind his adoring grandchildren Cam, Carson, Emma, and Abbey, who brought him so much joy.
Al will also be missed by his siblings Kenny (late Donna), Bobby, Ron (Kerri), late Cliff (Marietta), Bev (Keith), Jamie (Mary-Anne) and Dawn (Andrew). He was predeceased by Clarence and Scott.
Al is remembered fondly by his in-laws, Joe (late Marg), Bill (Michelle), Ed (Gloria), Ann, and Anita. Also survived by his Aunt Ina. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Al will be fondly remembered by his God children.
Al was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He always put his family first. Al spent time cheering on his grandchildren’s sports and school events. He was always helping anyone when needed. He loved all the visits with his family and friends, whether catching up or playing cards.
A visitation will be held at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North in Es, on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friends and family are invited to gather to share stories and honour his memory. The life celebration will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Windsor & Es County or to the MS Society. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
