Richard went home to be with his LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ at Manitoulin Health Centre. He took his first breath in Newmarket and his last breath in Mindemoya, on beautiful Manitoulin Island.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years Miriam (Guenther) Williams, beloved daughter Shannon (Brad) Hempel of Mindemoya and wonderful son Shawn (Jaime) of Calgary. Richard was so proud of his four grandsons, Mackenzie Hempel, Jake Williams, Lewis Williams and Eli Williams.
Pre-deceased by his parents Stan and Margaret Williams and his brother Robert “Bob” Williams. Survived by Fay Corbiere (Lyman Corbiere, deceased), Linda Bailey (Allen Bailey, deceased), Pam Williamson (Dave), Justin Williams, Debbie Kingshott (Bev), Stan Williams (Mia) and Michal Williams (Will). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Richard accepted the LORD as his Saviour at the age of eight and lived his whole life in this blessed relationship. His passion was to serve the LORD and while he spent many years doing this as a pastor, he also supported his family by working as a butcher and later as a provincial meat inspector. His most passionate hobbies were gardening, fishing, and activities in the great outdoors. He loved travelling with his family, covering many miles from coast to coast. His motto was “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” ~ Philippians 1:21
Visitation will be held at Freshwater Community Church in Mindemoya on November 26, 2024 from 10-11am, with the celebration of life to follow. Internment will take place in M’Chigeeng, ON. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
