Peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on Monday May 6, 2024. Joanne (Schoemaker) DeKroon , formerly of Westport, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Johannes (Joe) DeKroon. Dear mother of Stuart (Kathy) DeKroon of Portland and Sharon (Peter) Malkowske of Innisfil. Dear sister of Gert Schoemaker of Holland. Predeceased by brothers; Gus and Joop Schoemaker. Cherished Oma of Tyler, Andrew (Stephanie), Kobi Kinsley, Shay and Rea-Lyn. Dear sister-in-law of Elizabeth (the late Stuart) DeKroon of Brockville, Aafke (the late Ron) Vanogtrop of Odessa and Vince (the late Liz) Micallef of Gananoque. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the SCOTLAND FUNERAL HOME, 27 Main Street, Elgin on Thursday evening from 7 – 9. Funeral Service in Our Chapel on Friday morning at 11 o’clock. Inurnment, Union Cemetery, Lansdowne at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to Westport Lions Club Mobility Van or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
