It is with great sadness that we announce that Theresa Rosemary MacDonald (nee: Vaillancourt) passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 28, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born in Windsor and was raised in Pembroke by the late Theresa and Hector Vaillancourt. Theresa will be deeply missed by her husband Wib MacDonald. She was sister to John, Jimmy, and the late Earl, Dorothy, Phil, and Ron. Theresa was a loving mother to Shayne Hoelke (Jolanta), Steven Hoelke (Lana), and Fred Hoelke (Charity), and stepmother to Valerie Schreader (Bill), Jim MacDonald and the late Kevin MacDonald.
Theresa was an active and beloved “Granny” to Scott, Andrew, Holly, Victoria, Charlotte, Kamil, Casey, Olivia, Peter, Theresa, Adam, Abigail, Kadrienne, and Keegan and to several great-grandchildren. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was a warm, caring individual with a sharp sense of humour and a strong wit. One of Theresa’s most beloved qualities though, was her devotion and love towards her family and friends. Theresa was a well respected Registered Nurse within the community and worked in various settings across the Ottawa Valley. In her retirement, Theresa kept up a busy schedule including serving as the President of the Eganville Legion, playing cards and bingo, and hosting many family and friends with Wib at their house on Lake Dore.
