It is with profound sadness that we announce that, after a brief battle with cancer, Bruce passed away peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital on Monday, October 2, 2023.
Bruce is survived by his best friend and loving wife Rose (Rosemary), and he is also survived by his sister-in-law, Brenda Brown (Jim), his sister-in-law Margaret McLardy (Bruce), his brother-in-law Stuart Nimmo (Kim), his nephews David Brown (Lena) and Chris Brown (Veronique), his niece Taylor McLardy Simpson (Alex), his nephew Thomas McLardy, and his great-nephew Jackson Brown and great-niece, Everly Simpson.
Bruce is predeceased by his mother, Helen Tennant Brown, his father Ralph Brown, and his brother Jim Brown.
Bruce’s favourite pastimes were designing and building sets for community theater in Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon, and volunteering with Scouts Canada.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, discovering new places to go hiking, and taking long walks with his wife, Rose. He loved being outside any chance he could get. He was a voracious reader of everything he could get his hands on, especially Stephen King novels.
Bruce will be missed by many friends and family.
Rest now, gentle giant, until we meet again.
Family and Friends are invited to gather at the McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton on Saturday October 7, 2023 from 11am to 1pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 1pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sick Kids Hospital.
