Gary (Gerrit) William Vaters
August 28, 1960- October 15, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce Gary’s sudden passing at the age of 63 in London Ontario.
He will be missed by his love and partner of 28 years, Natalie Viau.
Gary is the father to 3 children Colin Vaters and Ryan Vaters with grandson Landon and daughter Emma Vaters.
He is the loving son to the predeceased Sylvester Vaters (Stella) and Kitty Vaters (Willemsen) and brother Patrick. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Jo-Ann Rizzo (Nick)
and his nephews Nicholas (Marissa), Alex (Eva) and Michael (Danielle). He will be missed by his in-laws Reg and Lina Leroux and Richard Leroux and his 2 children Nicholas and Alexandra.
Gary will also be remembered by his cousins and Aunt, Johanna Jenkins, Kiet and Diane Jenkins, Kitty and Kerry Bavis, Patrick, Tosha and Thea Bavis as well as his many cousins in the USA.
Gary grew up in a Military family and spent most of his young and teenage years in Baden Söllingen, Germany.
He was adventurous and loved life, he worked as a welder in Venezuela, as a carpenter in North Carolina, he joined the army and lived back
In Germany for a few years. Gary worked at GM Diesel/General Dynamics and was a truck driver. He enjoyed vacation time with his family and friends and loved golfing with his buddies.
A heartfelt thank you to the paramedics, fire department and Willow’s Golf course for their quick response and support and to the staff at Victoria hospital in London.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
