Robert Rantz Jr. Obituary
Robbie passed away peacefully from a heart attack at his place of employment in a gold mining development camp in the Dawson City area in the Yukon.
Robbie was the cherished son of Robert Rantz (Pauline Rantz) and Helen Hayes.
Dearly loved brother of Cathy Godin (Peter)(Ottawa) step brother of Brent Crigger (Chalk River) and Bobby Crigger (Lori)(Toronto). Uncle of Darcie Phillips (Alex) and Riley Godin (Sara Scott). Step Uncle of Bryce Crigger, Cameron Crigger (Corey), and Makenna Crigger. Predeceased by step brothers Randy Crigger (2021) and Pearson Crigger (2023). Also survived by cousins, aunts, uncles across Canada too numerous to name.
Robbie grew up in Petawawa, graduating from Fellows High School in Pembroke, loving the Ottawa
Valley where he participated in many sports activities, including hockey and ball. He worked at various construction jobs in the Petawawa area and White Water Rafting Companies in the Ottawa Valley. His love of cooking took him to Dawson City 9 years ago to work in the hospitality industry, working as a casual cook, other miscellaneous jobs, and more recently as casual cook and equipment operator at a gold mining development, where he passed away.
A service in the presence of ashes will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Black Bay Road, Petawawa on September 24, 2024, at 11:00 A.m. with Reverend Albert Romkema officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.
