Lloyd Ernest Sylvester passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024 in his 90th year.
Beloved husband and best friend to Marlene (Hamilton) for more than 65 years. Adored father to Cheryl (Robert), Heather (Maurice), Terry (Nancy) and Brian (Cathy). Loving grandfather of Scott (Stephanie), Sarah (William), Morgan (Eric), Alex (Kariane), Aaron (Noelle), Thomas (Alexandra), Nathan and Hudson, as well as great grandfather to Brynn and Harrison.
Son of Chester and Winnifred (Barton). Cherished brother to Roy (Linda, late Margaret), Betty (late Jim), sister-in-law Roberta (Steven, late Albert) and brother-in-law Wayne (Lorraine). Predeceased by brother Don (late Irene), brother Albert, brother-in-law Ken (late Mary). Lloyd will be greatly missed by his many nephews and nieces.
Lloyd was hard-working and dedicated. He spent many years working at the Royal Bank serving several communities in Quebec and Eastern Ontario, retiring in Cornwall where he enjoyed a second career in investment planning. Lloyd was an active participant and contributor to every community where he lived through his trusted leadership in churches, Lions and Rotary Clubs, charities and community organizations.
Lloyd was a man who prayed and considered himself to be greatly blessed. We will forever treasure how deeply he enriched our lives with his integrity, generosity of spirit, kindness, wisdom, and his sense of humor. We find comfort in knowing his legacy will live on through the love he shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
Lloyd’s family suggests that donations be made in his memory to the Ottawa Heart Institute or your charity of choice.
