Kelly Roger Joseph Hannigan October 12/1960 – September 28/2023
It is with such heavy hearts that we announce Kelly’s passing. Kelly passed away, with the love of family and friends. Kelly fought many painful battles valiantly, until his incredible courage and determination were no longer enough. Kelly lost his battle with many complications from diabetes related issues.
Kelly was the son of the late Bud and Dale Hannigan, brother to Tracy and Shauna (Norm), Uncle to Sarah, Lindsay and Blayne, as well, as Great Uncle to Henry, Oliver and Elliott.
Kelly also leaves behind an extended family of relatives, musicians, and friends.
Born and raised in Alberta, Kelly called South Georgian Beach his home for the past two decades.
Known as “The Music Guy”, Kelly was known and highly regarded as a drummer, agent, and musical event producer. As a founder of many local bands, host of the long running jam nights, and creator of the Collingwood Music Showcase, Kelly will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and lasting impact on his community.
There will be a Celebration of life, for Kelly’s friends in the music industry, on Tuesday October 10th from 5-8 at the Collingwood Legion, in Collingwood Ontario.
A Service in Edmonton for family and friends will be announced later.
In Lieu of flowers, donations towards Kelly’s final wishes would be appreciated.
