RILEY, Joan –
Passed peacefully with her children at her side, on January 9, 2024 in her 85th year at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood after a long tiring battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her Husband (Neville) of 57 years, Joan is survived by her children Stephen (Patti), and Paula McFadden (Greg) and her grandchildren Taylor (Cyn), Courtney, Riley, and Haydon who she loved endlessly.
Born in Manchester England, Joan and Neville arrived in Canada in 1965, leaving behind their own families and comforts to build what they believed would be a better future and life of opportunity and success for their children. We are forever grateful for her life of love, support, and encouragement that ensured that her belief would be fulfilled.
Thank you to Dr. Marion Arthur for her years of care and compassion. Thanks also to the Doctors. and Staff at Sunnybrook Hospital, especially those on 6th Floor D wing who cared for her lovingly.
Finally, a special thank you to the Nurses, PSW’s, and staff at Campbell House (Hospice Georgian Triangle) in Collingwood, who cared for Joan (and the entire family) with compassion, empathy, and dignity in her final weeks. There are no words to express our gratitude for their thoughtful and attentive care and support.
Arrangements entrusted to Affordable Cremation Services. A donation in her memory may be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House. To sign Joan’s Bok of Memories, please visit www.affordablecremation.ca
