It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Gail Synnott (nee Johnson) on Sunday December 17, 2023, at the age of 85.
Gail and her devoted husband of 67 years Raymond Synnott lovingly raised four children Randy (Karen) Synnott, Karen Pattison (Marty), Mike (Debbie) Synnott and Cindy Synnott. Her grandchildren Kristine (Keith), Kelly (Jason), Brandon (Tori), Stephanie (Mac), Christopher (Anna), Brittany (Dylan) and Shelby and great grandchildren Madison, Leila, Ava, Kaitlyn, Theodore, Paige and Cayla brought her great joy.
Gail will be missed by her sisters Wanda and Guyrene and brother George; predeceased by parents Jack Sr. & Leila Johnson, brother Jack and sister Marjorie. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Her life was an example of kindness and giving back. She was a devoted Sparks, Brownie and Girl Guide leader for 53 years, Salvation Army volunteer for over 70 years and lived by the motto that you ‘never turn down a chance to help somebody.’ She received the Collingwood Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the year award and many honors in her lifetime to acknowledge her selfless commitment to helping others. Her dedication to community was recognized when she was awarded the Order of Collingwood in 2010. She loved and touched the lives of many people. She will forever be in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place. No formal services will be held. As an expression of sympathy donations in Gail’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army or Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House.
