Caughlin, Elizabeth “Ann”
Caughlin (nee Echlin), Elizabeth “Ann” – passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital in her 85th year. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Clarence “Cog” Caughlin. Cherished mother of Kim Caughlin (Marc Lapointe), Ron Caughlin (Jeana Caughlin) and Ken Caughlin. Dear grandmother of Nathan, Michayla, Marc, Claire, and Bradley. Ann was born in Hamilton, where she lived until the family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan. Ann and Cog met in Regina while working at the TD Bank. Together they moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where they worked together at the main TD Branch at Portage and Main. Cog was transferred to Toronto, Ontario with the TD Bank. They settled the family in Thornhill, Ontario, where they lived happily for 40 years raising their family, and with many close friends and neighbours. They retired in Collingwood, Ontario in 2003 and were actively involved in the community; Probus, Toronto Ski Club, Batteaux Creek Golf Club. Ann loved skiing, golfing, tennis, swimming, curling and bridge. The family would like to thank Dr. Marion Arthur for the tremendous care she gave our Mom and Dad. The family would also like to thank Beth Frias Forsyth, Mom’s long-time caregiver and the Balmoral Retirement Staff and Community for their love and care of Ann. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Homes – Collingwood Chapel, with visitation commencing one hour prior, followed by a reception after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, which is appreciated by the family.
