Beverley Marie McCuaig –
With sorrow and sadness, our family announces the passing of Beverley Marie McCuaig of Acton, Ontario. Mum passed away November 30, 2023 at Georgetown Hospital at the age of 81.
Mum was born Beverley Marie Newell in November 1942 in Milton, Ontario. Mum studied at Teacher’s College in Belleville and then came to Heron Bay, Ontario to begin her teaching career. Here she met Bruce McCuaig and they were married in December 1963 and raised four children together. Mum separated from Dad in 1986 and returned to the Acton area.
Throughout her life Mum wore many hats and always worked very hard for her family. She was strong-willed and fiercely independent. She loved reading, gardening, and plants and flowers.
Mum is survived by her children: David (Suki), Lisa (Jacques Fillion), Keith (Melissa), and Neil, as well as her grandchildren Vanessa, Selena, Ariel, and Angelina. Mum is also survived by step grandchildren Chantal, Jeannot, and Sylvie Fillion and their children and grandchildren.
Mum is survived by her siblings: Shirley Isnor, Sharon Deforest, Barb Newell, Kathy Massey (Peter), Fred Newell (Sandy), Larry Newell, Debbie Moffat (Ed Watterson), Denise Lott (Terry) and sister-in-law Darlene Newell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mum is predeceased by her parents Edwin and Annie Newell (nee Hilson), brothers Ken Newell and Ron Newell, and brothers-in-law Ron Isnor and David Deforest.
Per Mum’s wishes, Mum has been cremated and there is no memorial service. Thank you all for your thoughts and wishes.
