Antonio Santilli, 87, of Thornbury passed away peacefully on Jan. 10, 2024, at the Hospice Georgian Triangle in Collingwood, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1936 to Pietro and Rosaria Santilli in Tocco Da Casauria, Pescara, Italy.
He married Trudy Santilli (nee Bradner) on Dec. 8, 1965 and had two children, Marco and Lisa.
Tony is survived by his wife Trudy, son Marco (Mahya) daughter Lisa (Mike) and grandchildren Brittney (Nick) and Joshua. Along with his siblings Domenic, Filomena, Ivan and Paul.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, and is four-legged sidekick Pearl.
For over 30 years he was a ski instructor at Blue Mountain and Georgian Peaks, known as “Tony the Tiger”.
He also loved tennis, camping, cycling, and walking with Pearl on daily excursions. You can hear him whistling on his walks and around the house.
Arrangements entrusted to the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 166 Russell Street E., Clarksburg on Saturday January 20, 2024 at 1pm, with visitation the hour prior to the service.
