With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Mitchell (nee Secka) on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Riverview Gardens. Born in the Czech Republic 96 years ago. Daughter of the late Cyrill and Marie Secka (nee Stipska). Wife of the late Larry Mitchell (2007). Beloved mother of Lisa Horney (Jon). Grandmother of Josh (Kylie) and Kirsten (Brandon). Mary is survived by her sister Annie Secka. Mary loved to cheer for her grandchildren at all of their various sporting events. She was a proud homemaker, mother and grandmother. Some of her favourite past times were Sunday afternoon drives with Larry, short weekend getaways, playing cards with her girlfriends, and cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those that knew her. Her family will remember her privately and lay her remains to rest at a later date. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider Diabetes Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
