We are greatly saddened to lose our beautiful Marie. After dealing with a variety of health issues, which accelerated fairly quickly in recent weeks, she passed away early Sunday morning, May 26. Family members were able to spend lots of time with her in the last few days as she reached the end of her earthy life before graduating to her heavenly home. Marie will be greatly missed by her husband, Allen, and two children Tim and Kristin.
The staff and environment at Four Counties Health Services were amazing, and the ideal place for her to spend her last few days.
Marie was born on August 1, 1952, to Percy and Gladys (nee Wenzel) Gedcke at Palmerston, ON. She leaves behind her siblings, Lorri (Richard) Wright, Gerry Gedcke and Ron (Carol) Gedcke and her in-laws Susan Sparling (John) Manuel and Patricia (Greg) Smith. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends. Allen and family appreciate the incredible support received by all during these last few days.
Marie attended the University of Guelph, where she met Allen, and they were married on October 16, 1976. She worked at various occupations, including times at the former Southwestern Regional Centre and with Group Homes in Blenheim. She volunteered with organizations such as Right-to-Life Kent, but with the arrival of the two children devoted herself to being a homemaker and mother, at which she excelled. Some of her favourite pastimes included watching the children in various sports activities, as well as gardening and traveling.

Cremation has occurred, and a celebration of life will be held at a future time and place. We will miss you forever, Marie!
