With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Angus Campbell on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Copper Terrace Long Term Care. Born 97 years ago, son of the late Daniel Campbell and Gertrude Brough. Predeceased by his siblings Billy, Junior, Charlie, Jack, Ross, Doug, Helen, Isobel, Joan, and Joyce, his son-in-law Paul Holman, infant daughter Kathleen, and youngest son Slater. Ken was also pre deceased by his 1st wife Mary Knight, the mother of his children, and by the love of his life and road companion, Rose Shaw.
Ken leaves behind his children Ron Campbell (Barb), and Bonnie Holman. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Sharri, Rick, Jennifer, Jason, Jodi, Scotty, and Crystal, great grandchildren Tommy, Kristeen, Jessica, Brandi, Tyler, Sydnie, Dustin, Makaila, Janessa, Nicholas, Chelsie, Allison, Caiden, and Maverick, and great great grandchildren Keira, Arianna, Ella, Owen, Kynsleigh, Braxton, and Oakley. Ken also leaves behind his great buddy Dave Brown, many loved nieces and nephews and the caring loving staff at Copper Terrace Nursing Home in Chatham.
Ken was a carpenter by trade and worked for Curran Construction in Sarnia for many years. He was an honorary member of the Carpenters Union. Ken was still building things well into his 80’s. If you stroll through the Sarnia Marina you can admire his handiwork with every gazebo you walk past.
Ken and Rose loved their many road trips around Ontario. Harrison Park in Owen Sound was one of their favourite places to visit. Ken also loved fishing and owned many boats over the years. Going to see Wiarton Willy was a yearly event for Ken and Rose. “That darn groundhog liked longer winters a lot of years.”
