Obituary of Glen Hamaguchi
Glen Hamaguchi passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on September 9, 2024.
Born in Vancouver, BC; Glen was the son of the late Yoshiko (2012) and Toshiaki (2018) Hamaguchi.
Glen was a beloved husband to Colleen, and was married for 36 years.
He was a very proud and loving father to his children Brett (Gena), Jillian, and Todd.
Cherished Grandpa to Maxwell and Nora.
Dear brother to Lori (Ian), Les (Lisa), Wayne (Kris), and Ken (Mette).
He will be greatly missed by many extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.
Glen will be remembered for being warm, welcoming, and full of witty banter. He was a hard-working, highly respected individual with a successful career in sporting goods. He was an avid golfer, bowler in the Chatham-Kent Nisei Bowling league, and a bingo player with his Mom, Yosh. Glen spent his time playing slots at the casino, being a lifelong Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Seahawks fan, and indulging in Hallmark Christmas movies all year round. Glen’s most recent, greatest pride and joy was being Maxwell and Nora’s “Grandpa”. He always made sure to have their favourite treats on hand, and was well versed in their favourite word; “yes”. Whether it was an unplanned sleepover or a trip to the duckpond, Grandpa said yes. He would take every opportunity to snuggle and watch tv with them.
Family to receive friends on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A Memorial Service of Glen’s Life will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place.
