Daniel Paul Chauvin, age 54 was called to heaven in the early hours from his home on July 16, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children.
Dan was a jokester right up to the end. He was always out for a laugh and very quick-witted. He enjoyed helping people, spending time with his puppies, exploring the provincial and national parks, day trips in the Camaro, dinners out, and travelling the world with his wife, Darlene.
Dan dedicated his life to service. He was a paramedic for both Windsor-Es and Chatham-Kent EMS for 18+ years. He then transitioned to St. Clair College where began teaching future paramedics and moved into various management roles at the college. It was here he was loved by staff and students alike. However, the role he was most proud of was husband and father. He took great pride in his children Aaron, Kolby and Lindsay.
Dan was also deeply loved by all the international high school students hosted at his family home over the years. He will be sincerely missed by Audrey Tsui, Maya Scardini, and Giuliana Arciprete.
Dan is survived by his wife and best friend, Darlene and their children, Aaron, Kolby and Lindsay. He is also survived by his parents Paul and Cheryl of Lakeshore and his father-in-law Murray Loop of Leamington. He is predeceased by his mother-in-law, Ethel Loop, and sister- in- law, Bonny Loop. Also, mourning are his siblings David (Desiree) and Amy (Neil) and many aunts and uncles.
We want to thank his doctor and advocates, Dr. Mendel and Jillian Jenkins, for their kindness, compassion, and guidance during this very difficult time for our family. We also appreciate beyond words the care provided by his nurses Tiffany Sands and Melanie Dodge. Also, we want to extend special thanks his PSW and caregiver T.J. Schram who was always able to lift Dan’s spirits.
Life transitions are handling arrangements. A private celebration of life as per Dan’s request will be held a t a later date. Donations in Dan’s name can be made to CK Animal Rescue.
